Hello, again, dear friends of Blue Raccoon! Last year, you may recall, we didn't have a kitchen and our house was in the middle of renovation. That meant we couldn't have our annual Christmas Eve celebration with friends. This year we're very excited to be able to get back to this 20 year tradition. I'm going to make a delicious Cuban Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) dinner. Our friends Tony and Ari will bring the appetizers, usually a huge antipasto spread. Our friends Bob and Barbara will bring a selection of fine Italian pastries. Ben and Costance usually bring an interesting drink.
As usual around this time I am in my holiday decorating mode and the dinner table is the centerpiece of the evening. Here's what I'm planning...
Let's get started, shall we? For Thanksgiving I created a table centerpiece at the store with pumpkins and flowers. Well, I took these same pumpkins and spray-painted them gold and silver.
Back inside, I dressed our table with a nice white linen tablecloth that I topped with a Chilewich Gold Scribble Runner.
Then I placed my gold and silver pumpkins down the center. I started by placing the large ones first (left), then I filled in with the smaller ones (right).
I then added some fresh greenery.
The magic happened when I added curly strands of battery-powered fairy lights.
The final setting.
Here's our tree! I was a bit sad last year that I couldn't put up a real tree (first time in my life without one). With our 9' ceilings we got a big one this year. Yay!
